Who? Middle/High School math or science teachers and counselors

What? Learn about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Camps for high school students; automotive manufacturing career opportunities; and how to build a robot that can artificially hear, see, feel, and obey your every command

Where? Wallace State Community College, Bailey Building Auditorium (tallest building on campus)

When? Wednesday, April 30, 2008; 8:00 – 2:30
Prizes! All participants will have a chance to win a robot for their classroom
Stipend! All participants will receive a $100 stipend and mileage reimbursement. Checks will be mailed after the workshop.

Agenda
8:00 – 8:30 Registration and light refreshments
8:30 – 8:45 Welcome
8:45 – 10:15 Industry speakers/question and answer session
10:15 – 10:30 Break
10:30 – 11:00 WSCC faculty presentations/question and answer session
11:00 – 12:00 Lunch
12:00 – 2:00 Build robots used in STEM camps
2:00 – 2:30 Wrap-up

Requirements
1. Complete a professional development needs assessment
2. Recommend a minimum of two qualifying students to STEM Camp before the May 6th deadline
3. Present information learned at one or more middle/high school events (staff meeting, etc.)
